Married couple arrested in Virginia for multiple drug offenses

Possession of an illegal substance can result in serious consequences. However, the consequences for possession alone pale in comparison to the consequences of drug distribution or trafficking charges. Typically, those found guilty of selling or transporting illegal substances can see anywhere from three years to life in prison. The length of the sentence will depend on a number of factors including type of substance, amount, and location of the drug sales. Selling drugs to children can also result in longer jail sentences.

One couple is now facing felony drug charges for trafficking of methamphetamine, selling heroin and other related crimes. North Carolina police initially investigated the husband and wife earlier this year for selling heroin and meth trafficking. When the couple found out that the police had issued warrants for their arrest, they fled the state. They were recently found in Virginia, where they were arrested by narcotics detectives.

Both the husband and the wife are facing a long list of felony and misdemeanor charges. The husband is facing multiple felony charges relating to the sale, delivery, manufacturing and trafficking of methamphetamine. He is also facing charges for conspiring to sell or deliver heroin. The wife is also facing multiple felony charges, some of which are related to the sale of heroin. Both husband and wife face misdemeanor charges for possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor counts contributing to delinquency of a minor. The couple was also charged for maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance.

If you are facing drug related charges, particularly drug distribution and manufacturing, you will need to come up with a solid defense strategy to protect yourself from severe consequences.
